New guestions, with photo's!

  • Ok, my schwalbe is back assembled after dismanteling and cleaning it completely. It runs so much better now, i only have to do the electrical instalation now. But i'm still left with some questions, i made pictures of them so here they come.
    1. I found a tube running next to the chain (see picture tube.jpg), it exits the enginehousing at the top and at the bottom. What is the function of this tube?
    2. The "vergasser" has a little pipe comming out of it right of one of the "Regulierschraube". Should this maybe be connected with the tube from question 1, and what is the function of it? (picture vergasser.jpg)
    3. My tachowelle is not functioning at all... i found that the "Schraubenritzel Tachoantrieb" is not one part anymore but two. Is there a way to get them fixed to eachother again or should i buy a new one? (picture tacho.jpg)
    4. What kind of oil can a use for the airfilter?
    5. how can i check if the "blinkgeber" is functioning? I have a full battery and a multimeter for checking electricity. I want to see if i have to buy a new one because its condition looks bad, the sponges are lsitting loose in the metal housing.
    6. i ask question 6 in a new post...

    Thanks in advance!

  • hello, the english-guy again,..... :)) :))

    1. i don`t know this tube, and i never seen something like that!
    2. when in the "vergaser" is too much petrol, it came out of this little pipe! normally there is a short tube on it, so the petrol drops under the "vergaser". there it can evaporate(?) !
maybe the owner before you, installed the tube near the chain, to let drop the petrol on the street! -> bad solution i think
    3. in your other post you wrote, you will order some parts! order an "Schraubenritzel Tachoantrieb" too, and everything is OK :D
i don`t think you can repair it!
    4. just use the oil you put in the engine! don`t put too much on the airfilter!
    5. the easiest way to check the "blinkgeber" is to put an bulb between the it and ground!

  • Hi lebowski, thanks for the answers

    1. the tube doesnt look very self made... looks pretty much like it should be there. Nobody else who has it?

    2. the vergasser leaks indeed true the pipe when i forget to close te fueltap :) But right now it leaks on the engine (as you can see on the vergasser picture) Where should the tube from the vergaser run to normally?

    3. ill order a new one :))

AND I FORGOT SOMETHING IN THE ORIGINAL POST:

What exactly is the function of the two "Regulierschraube" on the vergasser. I understand the are for the "leerlauf" but how to use them?
    thanks!

well... the english boy (hey im not english but belgian...);)

  • This little Pipe comming out of the "vergaser" has to be connected to this tube, so that the petrol can get on the the street. It´s meant to be like that!
When some petrol leaks out you should control the "Schwimmer" in your "Vergaser". So there´s something wrong.
With the "Regulierschraube" you can change the mixture between air and Petrol while your machine is running idle.
When you screw this "Regulierschraube" more into the "Vergaser" there will be more petrol mixed into, and the other way around.

  • hehe, i changed into a "Glühbirnenwechsler" now....

So that confirms exactly what i thought, ill replace it with a new tube running from the "Vergaser" true the engine. great.
I think there only runs petrol out when i leave the "Kraftstoffhahn" open for a few hours after driving.

Still dont understand the "Regulierschraube", i have two of them... ?(

  • With one "Regulierschraube" you can adjust how much mixture should get into the engine while it´s running idle (the oblique one), and with the other one you can adjust the relation between petrol and air of the idle-running-system of the "vergaser"

  • ok, so at the moment my schwalbe doesnt run while idle. So i try to understand what the procedure is.

First i turn the oblique screw until te engine keeps running, should i do this with the engine hot or cold?
Second i turn the other screw to regulate the air/petrol mixture, how can i check if the mixture is OK?

  • You have to do this while the engine is hot, otherwise it wouldn´t makes sense because your engine would not work propper when it´s hot.
First you have to make your engine run with the olbique screw.
When it runs propper you seek the highest rpm with the other screw. When you found this point you turn the oblique screw back till your engine runs slow but stable.
